Jimmy Buffett the singer songwriter of the hit song, “Margaritaville,” and many other classic beach rock songs died on Friday September 1, 2023 in the evening surrounded by family and friends.
A statement was released on his website and his social media accounts early on Saturday morning, “Jimmy passed away peacefully on the night of September 1st surrounded by his family, friends, music and dogs. He lived his life like a song till the very last breath and will be missed beyond measure by so many.”
Unfortunately Buffet's health began to decline after a canceled show in South Carolina due to a hospitalization in May.
Buffett had been battling skin cancer for several years and ultimately it turned to lymphoma.
Buffet was 76 at the time of his death.
Buffett was loved by many and had a strong following in the Parrothead community since his debut in the 1970s.
Buffett was best known for his laid back music and easy going life songs such as, “Cheeseburger in paradise”, “Son of a sailor”, and “Come Monday.”
